Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 27 July 2026

This is a template draft for review. It is not legal advice - have it reviewed and customized by qualified legal counsel before publishing.

Find Travel Partner is an adults-only service. Nobody under 18 may create an account, and we have no tolerance whatsoever for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we prevent and detect abuse, how you can report it, and who to contact.

1. Our commitment

Find Travel Partner exists to help adults find trustworthy travel companions. Child sexual abuse and exploitation has no place on this platform in any form, and we treat it as the most serious category of harm we can encounter.

We prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), any sexualisation of minors, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt to use the Service to contact or arrange to meet a child for those purposes. This applies to profiles, photos, trip posts, community posts, direct messages, and every other surface of the Service.

We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement. Accounts involved are terminated permanently, without warning and without refund.

2. Adults only — 18+

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Find Travel Partner. This is a condition of our Terms of Service, not a suggestion.

  • We ask for date of birth at sign-up and block accounts that do not meet the minimum age.
  • Identity verification checks a government-issued document, which independently confirms age for verified members.
  • An account we believe belongs to a minor is suspended immediately on discovery and its data deleted, whether we find it ourselves or someone reports it.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it — see our Privacy Policy.

3. What is prohibited

The following are banned outright and result in permanent termination:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any depiction, real or generated, of a minor in a sexual context.
  • Sexualising a minor in text, images, or implication, including in profile text or messages.
  • Grooming — building a relationship with a minor to enable abuse.
  • Sextortion — threatening to publish intimate imagery to coerce a minor.
  • Trafficking a minor, or advertising, soliciting or arranging it.
  • Sharing, requesting or linking to CSAM anywhere on the Service.
  • Using the Service to identify, contact or arrange to meet a child for any of the above.
  • Attempting to create an account on behalf of, or while accompanied by, a minor for these purposes.

4. How we prevent and detect

At sign-up

  • Date of birth is collected and an 18+ minimum is enforced.
  • Email confirmation is required before an account becomes usable.
  • Optional government-ID verification through a regulated identity provider; verified members carry a badge, and members can filter to verified travelers only.

On the platform

  • Automated screening of messages for indicators of abuse, which flags conversations for human review.
  • Every profile, photo, trip, community post and message can be reported by any member in one tap.
  • Members can block another member at any time, which stops all contact immediately.
  • Moderators review reports and can suspend, ban or remove content.
  • Repeat and severe cases are escalated to permanent termination and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.

5. How to report

If you see anything that endangers a child, report it. You do not need to be certain — we would rather review a report that turns out to be nothing than miss one that was not.

In the app or on the website

  • Open the profile, message, trip or post, choose **Report**, and pick the reason. Reports go straight to our moderation queue.
  • Use **Block** as well if you want contact to stop immediately.

By email

  • Write to safety@findtravelpartner.com with as much detail as you can — usernames, links, dates, screenshots.
  • Reports involving a child are prioritised above everything else in the queue.

If a child is in immediate danger

  • Contact your local emergency services first. Then tell us, so we can preserve evidence and act on the account.
  • In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
We aim to review any report involving a child within 24 hours of receiving it.

6. What we do when we find it

  • Remove the content immediately.
  • Suspend the account pending review, and terminate it permanently where the report is substantiated.
  • Preserve the account data and content as evidence rather than deleting it, where the law requires or permits.
  • Report apparent CSAM to NCMEC, and cooperate with law enforcement requests, including lawful preservation and disclosure orders.
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent the same person returning under a new account.

7. Legal compliance

We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions we operate in, including US federal reporting obligations for providers who obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).

We also meet the child safety standards required by the Google Play Developer Program Policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, and we keep this page current as those requirements change.

8. Point of contact

A named team is responsible for child safety at Find Travel Partner and can be reached at safety@findtravelpartner.com. This address is monitored for reports from members, from app store operators, and from law enforcement.
