Buses cover the classics well (Ljubljana-Bled-Bohinj frequent; summer routes over Vrลกiฤ), and trains add scenic value - the Bohinj line's Most na Soฤi stretch and the car-train through the mountains are quiet gems. Ljubljana itself is bike-and-walk city (BicikeLJ share bikes practically free). Soฤa outfitters shuttle activity clients. Soฤa water is cold and pushy - licensed operators only for canyoning/rafting. Karst caves: surfaces are slick, 10ยฐC is real. One quirk: the forests host Europe's healthiest brown-bear population (mostly in the south) - they avoid humans; make noise on remote trails. Ticks carry TBE - repellent and checks.
